Richard Lohr is a managing director in the public finance investment banking group of Piper Jaffray. He is located in Houston, Texas and is the co-head of the nationwide senior living finance group, with responsibilities including business strategy, coordination with key platform groups and bank affiliates, geographic expansion of the platform as well as diversification and execution of the growth mandate. He has over 25 years of experience in both private and public company environments.
Prior to joining Piper Jaffray, Lohr was co-head of the housing and healthcare group at BB&T Capital Markets. Previous to investment banking, Lohr was an equity partner and member of senior management at Greystone Communities, Inc. He was responsible for business development activities, including the development of strategy, business plans and operations improvements as well as coordinating and financing the execution of plans developed. He was responsible for managing the development of complex financial models as well as financial reporting and continuing disclosure to the board of directors and institutional investors of various projects and investments. Greystone Communities was subsequently acquired by Sunrise Senior Living.
Lohr began his career at Bank One, Texas. Subsequent to Bank One, he worked in the management consulting sector for Peterson Consulting and Tucker Alan, Inc. and provided various business advisory services to clients in the insurance, manufacturing, aerospace and defense as well as other sectors.
Lohr is a graduate of Baylor University.
